No. 9 player and No. 1 third-baseman in South Carolina by Diamond Prospects ... all-state selection as a sophomore and senior ... region player-of-the-year as a sophomore and senior ... all-region selection as a sophomore and senior ... lettered three times in baseball and three times in football at Greenville High School, where he was coached by Steve Scolamiero.

Personal: His grandfather, Louis P. Batson Jr., is a Clemson University trustee emeritus ... his uncle, Bill Spiers, was an All-America shortstop at Clemson (1985-87) and went on to play 13 seasons (1989-01) in the major leagues with the Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets and Houston Astros ... majoring in parks, recreation & tourism management ... born Glenn Elliott Batson Jr. on Oct. 17, 1994 in Greenville, S.C.
