Amari Rodger's dad

Oct 29, 2018, 9:14 PM

I just saw on ESPN that Coach Clay Helton relieved Tee Martin, Amari's dad, of the play-calling responsibilities at SoCal. Martin remains offensive coordinator, but Helton will call plays from now on. Helton also fired the offensive line coach at the same time.

I wonder if Martin will want to move on.

H3ll I didn’t even know he was calling plays...I thought he was just the WRs coach.

they play the 128th ranked scoring defense in Oregon State next. Sounds like a control freak. He didn't fire Tee, though (like he did the O-line coach). So, he obviously has a lot of respect for him. This could backfire when they start playing harder defensive teams like Cal and Notre Dame.

Hmm - didn’t they score 35 this past week

In a loss? Seems like maybe the other side of the ball might need addressing.

Martin hasn't been good as OC

That said, this is likely a desperate attempt by Helton to save his own skin. I think USC is going to clean house at the end of the season though.

My money would be on USC

Jumping on the Matt Campbell train. He might be the closest to a Dabo there is. Then again, I could see USC going after Brohm...and breaking ALL of Louisville's hearts in the process. Regardless, it's going to be anxious times in Ames and West Lafayette by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. That's a shame, for both programs...perhaps one, or both, will surprise.
