I am probably the biggest proponent of starting the season on time with no fans, whether it be high school, college, or pro. But even with all precautions taken, playing ball ain't exactly social distancing, and the virus will spread. Fortunately 99% of the young folks will be unscathed.
There is alot of work that's going to be done by many in the coming weeks in preparation for a season that starts in early September which is exciting. But I can't help but think about all of the effort (and money) being spent in preparation that may not bear fruit.
Hopefully the next six weeks will be see a tremendous drop in cases and hospitalizations, and we can pull for the Tigers at home. Here's to the best of outcomes! Yall be safe.
Re: Are football players/teams wasting their time?

No. The players especially are not wasting their time. Whether they play or not the still have to train, workout, practice, and stay fit to keep their bodies ready for when the do play. The ones who don’t will be sitting the bench or cut. The ones who survive on talent alone will be exposed when the 3stringers who never quit working out are running circles around the “5 star” guys who coasted through the shut down.
