Yep. But a lot of those executive order regulations that obama put on business and Trump reversed will return. He could also reinstate the individual mandate on obamacare.

mandate through executive order. The ACA individual mandate was repealed in the Republican 2017 Tax Bill that was signed into law. So...in order to reinstate the mandate it will require Congress to pass legislation doing so.

It’s a shame that politicians can’t win or lose with honesty or integrity. JFK’s father used the mafia to pack ballet boxes in key states. Look what it got Papa Kennedy 2 som’s that we’re assassinated.

Please STOP watching Fox News

Nov 4, 2020, 10:10 PM

Guess what!?!?!?!? Socialism is not happening. It never will in this country, ever. No matter what fear Fox News is trying to put into you.

Guess what?!?!? we are also not a 100% capitalist society. That will never happen in this country either.

There is a balance which is what works. So please stop listening to Fox News and them trying to convince you that is coming.

We need a free market to an extent, and we need gov't assistance to an extent. People say they want zero government involvement.

Ok, no infrastructure, no military, no police, no teachers, on and on. We all need both, regardless of what crap you are hearing.

Just a thought, maybe look beyond Fox News and CNN for your information. Both are businesses that know their demographics, and will feed them no matter what they have to so that you will watch, and they can sell advertising. Its not about TRUTH or what's right, its about making MONEY!

Its business marketing 101. They don't care how biased and slanted their news is, as long as they can keep people watching, and let their demographic feel good. Just like CNN.

b/c my Daughter is a Liberal & she “tells” me (like you told him) to not listen to FOX News.

Two problems with that directive from her..1. I was cut off of FOX, NBC, ABC, MSNBC & CNN and ESPN when I cut my Comcast Cable bill in half back in mid Jan 2020..

and 2. If I told her to stop watching all of the above cable outlets (like she religiously does) she’d tell me where to drop.

Saying, you Libs are so bossy & know it all!

Why is that a common trait?

The choice was between Trump and Biden. Looking at the running mates of these two plus what each has done in public service, there is but one choice that we shoud have made and that is Trump. Unfortunately, it appears we may have made the wrong choice. As to your comments on Fox News, I totally disagree!!! What is your new watching choice?

The problem I see is people are voting for the person. You are not “supporting someone like Trump” by voting Republican. The Presidency is more than one person, it is an agenda.

If you support the agenda/direction of the party, you should vote for their candidate whether he’s a ######### or not.

It’s funny to me to see people who claim to support the Republican agenda turn and vote for the Democrat just because they don’t like Trump personally. Everyone knows he’s an ####### Twitter troll, but how did that make people abandon the agenda and vote for the opposite direction for the country? Maybe they don’t really believe in the things they claim to believe in?

He told you to turn off CNN too, Bill. The dude is clearly not a "lib".

There are more than two teams. That's the most irritating thing about partisans (like, cough, you), it's "us" or "them"...at which point a lot of us independents are like: okay, if we're either with you or against you, then we're against you.

I was a registered Republican - still am, technically - but I went indie just because I have my own mind. There's a bunch of us in that boat and an "us or them" attitude strongly pushes us to the other side.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have been a moderate Republican since I could vote...

Nov 5, 2020, 7:37 AM [ in reply to Are you a Liberal, you must be a Liberal TD Tigers.. ]

Retired Navy Intelligence officer...IMHO though Trump is unworthy of the office. It appears to me that any decisions he makes leading up to election were based on one criteria...would it provide him more votes for re-election. Could there be other reasons for his decisions...maybe, but I doubt it.

Additionally, when I look at any candidate I want to know what their strategy, plan and/or vision of what they want to accomplish. For all intents and purposes, Trump never did that to justify putting himself back in the Oval Office for 4 more years. He didn’t provide a platform in the debates and all I saw him do in campaign stops was wail, moan and rant about people that don’t like him. That for starters is not Presidential...it’s acting like a 7 year old that didn’t get what they wanted.

Finally, as a veteran and having friends that gave their lives for our country, hearing the corroborated report (by FoxNews, as well) that Trump disparaged deceased veterans calling them losers and suckers is unconscionable and unforgivable. This is why almost 800 retired military flag officers and former senior government executives including 5 Secretaries of Defense ( Two that he appointed) signed a letter asking people not to vote for him because he isn’t worthy of the office. Are you going to tell me that group are a bunch of liberals too?

So, it’s okay by me that you voted for a buffoon, just don’t make assumptions that everyone that disagrees with you is liberal.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So, an intelligence officer that listened to ‘a corroborated

Nov 5, 2020, 8:21 AM

report from Fox News’ determined the president called deceased military members losers, etc., when approximately 20 people who were also present at the same event/time have said they didn’t hear him say it?

Not to throw shade on you or your service; however, this is too much ‘he said, she said’ for me to trust - or to definitively act or decide upon. I know in Intel, you have to make some connections and extrapolations, but I’m not sure I would go to the Commander and Staff with this one during the Mission Brief.

I am curious what your thoughts or ‘assessment’ are concerning possible quid pro quo and/or political corruption committed by the Vice President and his immediate family if you had numerous sources or proof of that on hard drives, emails, texts, recorded phone calls, and first hand information provided by a business partner?

Re: nobody wants to use the word “treason”

Nov 5, 2020, 8:14 PM

But at the very least, Atlantic running that UNVERIFIABLE story was seditious.

If you are going to tell the American military family that their C-in-C considers their sacrifice to be foolhardy and worthy of disrespect, you have given them moral reason to commit mutiny. That story is so offensive that, if it were verified, the Republicans themselves should have impeached him. As the Dems taught us, impeachment doesn’t require actual law-breaking. Breaking faith with the military is unconscionable.

However, it wasn’t verified, was it? Oh, it was “confirmed” by multiple networks—meaning that the same rumor-spreaders who didn’t have actual knowledge spread the story to multiple networks. The story itself wasn’t confirmed. The details weren’t confirmed. The identities of knowledgeable people willing to accuse the President weren’t confirmed.

So what was confirmed? That the same 4 people who talked to Atlantic also told the same story to Fox, CNN and anyone who would listen. THAT’S what was confirmed.

And why wouldn’t those 4 rumor-spreaders take responsibility for their report? Most of us say, because they were not among the 21 people who would have had actual knowledge, and revealing their identities would prove the story to be propaganda of the worst kind. But Atlantic says these brave Americans who were honor-bound to report this unverifiable story “were afraid of angry tweets.” They were only willing to come forward if necessary, they said.

IT WAS NECESSARY. SO WHY DIDN’T THEY COME FORWARD?

Because the goal wasn’t to tell the truth to American military families. It was to drive a wedge between them and their C-in-C who doesn’t always behave like an officer and gentleman.

Most of Trump’s critics don’t try to understand him; they just criticize all of the elements they find objectionable without ever having a clue what his positive traits are. But Trump thinks like a businessman. He identities who is on his side, and therefore who he is trying to help; and he identifies the “bad actors” that do not conduct themselves with good faith. The whole world is Us vs Them. Us have common goals; Them do not. Us trust each other; Them do not.

To Donald Trump, the military is Us. He would NEVER disrespect an active duty member of Us without that person doing it first.

The Atlantic trashed its own historic reputation during this entire campaign.

Your telling us to stop listening to FOX. I'd rather listen to them than listen to the propaganda being spread by a Liberal media and Congress that does want to take us down the road to Socialism.
After all Who do you think Bernie Sanders is, Col Sanders.
And the last time I checked Elizabeth Warren was not Pocahontas either.
But it is those two who will yield some influence and power in a Kamala Harris administration because make no bones about it, she will be President with in the first 6 months of Joe Biden being sworn in, that is if he can repeat the Oath without stumbling over it.

SOCTUS could easily undermine that if they strike down the ACA and leave us with a rudderless healthcare system going into 2022.

Just curious balm - have you gone to the Healthcare.gov

Nov 5, 2020, 5:39 PM

website and run the numbers on what this ACA costs/provides to the average middle class person? It is open season right now and I'll give you the numbers for my family:

In the state of NC there is only one ACA website provider - Blue Cross Blue Shield. No other choices...

The cheapest "Affordable Care Act" plan for my family is the "Bronze 8550 (limited network)" plan with a monthly premium of $1,176 and a $17,000 deductible.

The most expensive plan is the "Blue Local Gold 2500 (local network with Atrium Health)" which has a monthly premium of $1,935 and a $5,000 deductible.

All other plans range in monthly premiums from $1,215 to $1,821 with deductibles ranging between $12,000 to $15,000.

These are the health insurance price ranges for someone who is center middle class and on a retired income. In the simplest terms, this is not really health insurance - it is an overpriced catastrophic accident insurance. There is no way I could afford the "Gold" plan and if forced into using one of the ACA provided plans I would have to settle for the "Bronze" plan. The high deductible options on just about every plan makes this insurance worthless to me as in an average year my family comes nowhere close to spending $17,000 on Doctor visits. So in an average year, I would spend a minimum of $14,000 a year in insurance premiums that never pays one cent towards any of my actual healthcare expenses.

The reality is that the ACA took a pricey healthcare system and made it into an unaffordable healthcare system. Even poor people (AGI of $30,000 or less) who get a tax credit to offset their monthly premium costs must still contend with these ridiculous deductibles.

So yes - hopefully the Supreme court kills the ACA. The ACA was a BS bill passed on a pure partisan vote that has driven healthcare costs for the middle class (particularly those without employer health insurance) through the roof.

...because what they really want is full government run healthcare. The ACA was intended to be a disaster so that it would fail and the D's could label the insurance companies as "greedy" and "uncaring", so ONLY the Government is the solution.

You have to know, they are playing Chess, which means they are always looking several moves ahead.

They did the same thing with stealing this election, but that is a different topic.
