Can someone explain why the ACC tournament is in Brooklyn?

I mean, other than the money reason. It really makes little sense to any team but BC. I don't remember but I'm sure there's a good reason. Well, I doubt there's a good reason but I was being sarcastic.

claim as the NYC conference. They are battling the Big East (who is traditionally there but has lost the marketing power of a football conference) and the Big Ten (who has a large fan base in NYC).
Kind of crazy...all three conferences are playing their tournaments in the New York area this season. That’s pretty nuts.
I like the tournament being outside NC. I prefer Washington as it is a great destination and more centrally locates. The Football game has a great home in Charlotte. The basketball tournament should be farther North but still somewhat central in my opinion.
