The only question that matters.

Aug 18, 2020, 6:44 PM

"...a moment of crisis for our nation. The attacks on our police, and the terrorism in our cities, threaten our very way of life. Any politician who does not grasp this danger is not fit to lead our country.

Americans have seen the recent images of violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities. Many have witnessed this violence personally, some have even been its victims.

I have a message for all of you: the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end...

The most basic duty of government is to defend the lives of its own citizens. Any government that fails to do so is a government unworthy to lead."- Donald Trump acceptence speech RNC Convention 2016.

The question is the same for every Presidential election and it's a simple question.

Is America better off now than it was 4 years ago?

And the violence in the streets is allowed and condoned

By Democrat politicians and mayors......

What’s your point?

Did you not understand the question?

Sure...but your diatribe focuses on something unrelated

Aug 18, 2020, 7:17 PM

In many ways, America is better off, some ways no.

True, this pandemic shaved at least 4 minutes off my commute.

Sans covid, unequivocally better...

Sans covid, unequivocally better...

I agree with that. And his mishandling of the Coronavirus in the beginning and its subsequent devastation of our economy is on him. Not Dems, not far-left agendas, not Antifa....it's all on Trump, he was in charge.

He is as accountable for Covid as Obama was for H1N1.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don’t blame Cuomos deaths on Trump

Aug 18, 2020, 7:53 PM

Also China, but orange man bad... I get it.

Covid is also not comparable to H1N1 by any stretch. One is airborne and one is only transmitable through bodily fluids. Thanks Obama

Remember when Slow Joe accused Trump of being a xenophobe and 'overreacting' to the Pandemic? And Pelosi casually walking through China Town downplaying the pandemic? Imagine where we would be now IF they were calling the shots in February and March. Felix, always on the wrong side of facts and logic.

Tell us, what did he do wrong in the beginning? Fauci said Trump saved thousands of lives early on by limiting the Chinese influx. Do you honestly think a demented old man lost and confused could have done a better job? Felix, that's just crazy! Your TDS seems to be taking you down. Live large, not low like you are right now. Major psychological problem with Trump. I mean pathological obsession. Get help.

there are some ######## democrat run cities that are worse off, but that's because of the local leadership.

Re: yes America is a lot better off than 4 years ago

In just 8 months, 51 million Americans applied for unemployment. 30 million of them still receive it.

If you think America is better of than 4 years ago, you are simply blinded by your own hyper-partisanship.

Hatred aint no way to live son.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems that you are the Hater, Felix....

Aug 18, 2020, 7:14 PM

With every fiber of your being, you hate Trump and his supporters..

I hope your soul can ultimately deal with that ....

Re: Seems that you are the Hater, Felix....

Aug 18, 2020, 7:47 PM

Yes, there is some hatred of Trump. But also some fear. He's not a well man and you know it. He's already trying to cast doubt on the election because he knows he's going to lose. He's dangerous.

The Pandemic didn't have to be this bad. Now, parents are forced to play Russian Roulette with sending their kids to school.

Any President must be held to account for what happens to the country during his term. Any President.

Except for Trumpism. Trumpism is a perfect example of Oliver Stone's quote: "Helll is the impossibility of reason." With Trumpists, there is no reason, only blind servitude.

The S&P 500 hit a record high today

Aug 18, 2020, 7:53 PM [ in reply to Re: yes America is a lot better off than 4 years ago ]

Dow and NASDAQ are not far behind. Construction is still very strong. What this means is that business are taking advantage of the slow down to expand. They believe demand will soon be back. Unemployment is short term from covid, even you are smart enough to realize that.

I had one of my best years ever. I paid a boat load of taxes last year and this year. My estimated taxes this year were the highest ever. My personal net worth is an all time high.

Yeah, I am ready for 4 more years.

Just to play devil’s advocate a little...

Aug 18, 2020, 9:15 PM [ in reply to The S&P 500 hit a record high today ]

Is your financial situation the only measure by which you define your success...and by extension, the success of the country?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, my industry forshadows the economy in particular

Aug 19, 2020, 1:58 AM

engineering comes before construction. I'll see the downturn coming before it hits.

Construction was not affected by COVID. We weren't shut down. Demand is still there.

When the economy is good everybody wins. Trickle down? When we are losing money and not paying taxes there is definitely no trickle down. Economic activity creates jobs, income, taxes.

Those UE numbers are irrelevant to any POTUS

Aug 18, 2020, 9:31 PM [ in reply to Re: yes America is a lot better off than 4 years ago ]

No POTUS could have changed the outcome significantly. The relief bills were filled with partisan garbage.

The extra $600 in UE benefits just incentivized staying out of work. Georgia used the additional taxes on them to help close the $1 Billion shortfall to only $92 Miilion for our fiscal year that ended on July 31st.

The rest of the bill was garbage.

COVID-19 and the Government’s handling of it was a failure on so many levels. It was made political at the beginning in January when Trump blocked flights from China and was called racist and xenophobic. Pelosi and DeBlasio were telling people to go about their lives 4-6 week later. DeBlasio threatened to sue states who stopped New Yorkers from entering saying it was unconstitutional. The very same thing he is now doing for out of staters trying to enter NY.

Did Trump do a good job? Not really. But having the Speaker of the House and the Mayor of New York among others criticize and mock his early responses didn’t help.

Instead of trying to find a solution, everyone immediately played partisan politics. And it helped no one.

Re: yes America is a lot better off than 4 years ago

Aug 19, 2020, 10:19 PM [ in reply to Re: yes America is a lot better off than 4 years ago ]

By your logic, every leader in every country in the world is at fault for their COVID deaths and their country's tanked economy. Logic, facts and common sense continue to elude you, sadly.

There has never been anything like this Pandemic and I believe that every leader did the best they could. NOBODY had any idea how to handle it, including your favorite Alzheimer's buddy, Joe Biden. The responses world-wide evolved predictably and we're now winning this China-created war!

Do recall Biden's responses to the pandemic from his bunker? Had we followed his suggestions, or lack thereof, we would be even more screwed at this point. That's fact, Jack. Wake up

But there are other reasons not to vote for him.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-jospehg.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, blame Trump for George Floyd.

Aug 18, 2020, 9:59 PM

Trump created the Minneapolis Police union that protected Derek Chauvin.

Trump appointed the black Police Chief that allowed Derek Chauvin to continue to wear the uniform after 18 complaints.

Trump appointed the Democrat Mayor that runs Minneapolis.

Trump provided the counterfeit bills and meth so George Floyd would get arrested.

You got Trump there. He’s definitely responsible.

Hey FELIX2..

Aug 18, 2020, 11:59 PM

Yes, I & this country are better off than we were 4 years ago..

Except the Covid19 undid what President Trump did for our economy..and his decision to go along with a dem named Dr Fauci further undermined his cause in that this man has been all over the map in his decision making and is clueless at times.

Oh..the Vets at the VA say hello, the people living near the open Southern border say hello, the Blacks say hello with more jobs & $ in their pockets than ever before, he encouraged the hi-tech companies to bring back billions of off-shore $, the conuntry became less dependent on oil from overseas and now sells products there, gas prices are low, interest rates are low, he reduced stiff laws to allow businesses to grow & invest, he’s been a friend of law enforcement, and the military has been built up better than in last 20 years.

Yes Felix2..Trump has done a great job overall especially CONSIDERING he had Obama/Biden/Rice/Comey laying out some dirty lies about him so to get him out of office which cost this country 3 1/2 years of emotional hardship.

Shameful!!

And President Trump didn’t make excuses for America to the World as Obama did in his first months. Trump loves this country.

The question to you is: Will voting for a dementia-ridden 77 year old man who will be relieved by a unqualified & bias woman to run this country make us/you better off in 4 years?

And, will having committee posts & congressional seats filled with admitted Socialists & Marxists who hate what American has been & is going to make things better?
