And this is where the real control of the future is

This is why Trump's disruption of the global order that America was in charge of was so dangerous. He declared a massive trade war on China, sure...but then he also turned around and declared a cold war - trade as well as political and military - on our own allies, which opened a void China was busy trying to fill: global tech leader.
The EU thinks they can work with Joe Biden, anyhow. Hopefully we can...or China will pull ahead in terms of tech...which is ironic considering they stole all the base of that tech by ignoring trademarks and copyrights and intellectual-property laws to begin with.
And we do not want that.

Trump was a divisive cult leader. He was a terrible president though. He won't be missed by most.

Yet Trump is the only person to hold China accountable for stealing intellectual property. I’m sure Biden will be tougher, maybe send in Hunter.

I’m glad he tried something, even though it didn’t work. Like

starting a dialogue with North Korea, I do give him some points for trying, even though neither ended up helping. He can at least say he tried where others haven’t. Haha

Put America first no matter what the out come maybe. It is in the best interest of the USA and not give a country like China all the technology we have worked so hard to create. They are not our friend and you can take that to the bank. I was in on the beginning to give China technology. They were buying CNC equipment for the company I worked for and placing them in an empty factory or one that had all the other machinery cover up so we could not tell what they were trying to make. They were just trying to copy everything and it only took them 30 yrs to do it. If you ever get to go to China just go into any park and listen. They are no birds or any thing in those parks. They have already eaten all the animals. It is a nasty place I can tell you that.

China depends on our willingness to buy their products

.....if we convince enough people to stop buying their cheap shyatt, then we might have more leverage. But we decided to go with tarriffs on all of our friends and adversaries, which was a giant, idiotic blunder.
The tarriffs did not stop us buying their shyatt, they just made Chinese products more expensive, so they are simply a tax on American consumers. The only party that benefited is the US Treasury, and I'm honestly surprised that no-one points at this and cries SOCIALISM, SOCIALISM, but maybe it's cause y'all are so hypocritical.
The tarriffs have not helped anyone but the government's bank accounts, til you fools wake up and realize this, you won't be able to solve anyone's problems.
And no, isolationism is a fool's dream. We need allies. We need relationships. We need organization and order, or else we have chaos. Does anyone actually read history here?

I’m not sure how that article is anti-Trump.

First, I have no doubt that if the EU came to America with a goal of establishing emerging technology standards before China can, Trump would have jumped at the idea. Do you disagree? If you’re saying that the EU wouldn’t do that because rod Trump, then the risk is those representatives, not Trump.
Second, the article references many barriers that Biden will either keep or even strengthen:
“ Both Weyand and the other senior official argued a resumption of TTIP negotiations was not back on the cards, both because of fierce public opposition to the deal and because negotiations had become stuck over things like EU protections for agriculture and U.S. public procurement discrimination with the Buy America Act, which Biden has said he wants to ramp up rather than dismantle.”
And...
“ Much will depend, however, on the overarching political atmosphere between Brussels and Washington, which could well sour over what the U.S. sees as unfair regulatory action against its biggest digital champions, both in terms of competition cases and tax.”
So how exactly did Trump interfere with the ability of the EU and America to take the lead on technology standards? And do we think Biden is the man that will take a hard stance against China in this regard? If so, what has lead to that conclusion in his past or his rhetoric?

I think the Chinese will push Biden to the limit but he will have to clamp down on China soon or later. Right now they have no one to push back during this pandemic and they like that very much by their actions around the world.
