He's the talk of college football. Would like to see Trevor the throw ball 60 times in a game to see his stats. Just curious.

Leach does make it fun to watch, but will never win a Natty. Glad he's closer just for the sound bites alone. The mouth off between him and Kiffin before the Egg Bowl should be epic. 623 passing yards is the new record in the SEC. Mahomes had 819 against the vaunted defense of Oklahoma. We're just too good for TL to ever have a chance to do something like that, but if he had to he's certainly got the arm and accuracy to do it.I'm really impressed with the accuracy so far this season.

Mahomes had 819 total yards against Oklahoma, 734 were passing yards, just an FYI. That is tied for the most in a single game.

Here is what is amazing to me.
His first game with them. He came into a system that did not know the air raid offense. He had the same restrictions as everyone else with COVID. He had an insurrection on his team over "social justice." Several kids transferred out.
But, in his FIRST game he went into Baton Rouge and set an SEC record for passing yards in a game.
I don't expect them to win the SEC West. But, it was a darned impressive start.
And, some Nole fans are asking, "How can Leach do that well, but Norvell can't even show improvement. No one at MS ST is talking about a 3 year rebuilding process."

I watched KJ Costello a few times at Stanford. Was not all that impressed and thought he was a little overrated. He got better press than he deserved IMO. Some of the mistakes he made against LSU were just as I expected.
However, being plugged into the Air Raid system has clearly brought something out of him that wasn't there before. His sheer confidence (even right after mistakes) blew me away. He's completely bought into Leach's mindset and is the better for it. Props to him.
For FSU fans, you have to understand Mike Leach is a turnaround specialist but he can only take your team so far. FSU has aspirations of being a regular title contender. You need a more methodical, steady handed approach to accomplish that vs. a jump-start kind of guy.
The Air Raid won't catch any more teams off guard. It will be much tougher going forward, particularly against Alabama, Auburn and UGA. They will knock Costello on his backside a lot.

If the Air Raid caught LSU off guard then all of their defensive coaches should be fired.
Everybody knows exactly what's coming when Leach coaches a team.
Miss St isn't beating Bama, but if you rule out that they could beat every other team in the conference after dominating that game on Saturday, you are mistaken.
Now, they won't beat every other team they play because their players still aren't very good and they will have bad games, but we saw that they will be able to score enough points to compete in all of their games.
Leach has always had a ceiling because he doesn't worry too much about recruiting and he has never coached at a program in the top 60 of recruiting with or without him.
Miss St gives him the opportunity to find more athletes to put into his system than what he has had before. It's a scary situation for a division that seems low on offense this season outside of Bama and the Mississippi schools.

Miss St isn't beating Bama,
It is unlikely but Nick has had his issues with teams that fling it... A&M under Johnny and Ole Miss during the Swag regime.

The Air Raid is shock therapy and I promise good SEC defenses will slow it down the more they see it. However, the weaker sisters in the conference will be overwhelmed if they can't rush the passer, which is the key to shutting it down. The second key is laying hits on receivers on crossing patterns (it adds up). Not saying the LSU game was a complete fluke, but the crazy productivity will not continue. Remember, the Little 12 and Pac 12 are soft conferences with weaker athletes in the secondary.
Believe me, Leach recruits as hard as anyone but Lubbock TX and Pullman WA are tough places to attract 4-star players. Starkville MS is much closer to great talent. I'm curious to see if he can recruit as well as Dan Mullen.
I wish Leach the best while hoping Lane Kiffin crashes and burns.

The Air Raid is not a gimmick. It relies on precise timing and route trees with a QB who can make quick decisions and correct reads. It doesn’t require an all world QB but mostly someone who is accurate and smart.
Of course teams will be more prepared with the more tape they see but with knowing Leachs pedigree, I highly doubt LSU was surprised at anything they saw Saturday.
The problem with this style has always been turnovers, not being able to grind out clock with a lead, and gassing your defense because your offense is never on the field long enough.

Costello was pretty darn good in 2018. He was injured a lot

last year and didn't play very well in limited action (only 5 games), but he averaged 8.6 YPA in 2018 which was actually slightly higher than Trevor Lawrence. He did throw more picks, but outside of JJ Arcega-Whiteside, he didn't have nearly the talent at WR to work with at Stanford either.
He was dropping dimes against LSU. You have to at least be a pretty good QB to make the throws he was making all game.

Well, look for Nick Saban to ask for a ban on the forward pass or at least limit it to 30 passes per game. Too many players getting out of breath chasing receivers all over the field ...... bad for their health.

Lol. True. They may not win the West, but I wouldn't be surprised if they knock off at least a few more teams that they normally wouldn't. Not saying they will beat Bama, but I guarantee Nicky said a few choice words when he realized he will have to prepare for that. Also, that offense at least gives you a chance in every game in my opinion.

Also 9 rushing yards for the team

And less than 50 positive rushing yards. He's gonna throw it 60 times a game and probably be in New York in December because they don't have Travis Etienne. Not worried about the team; LSU's offense is just as depleted as their defense and they moved the ball all over them. Put Mississippi State in the Big 12 already lol

I think it's awesome for CFB to have Leach in the SEC. And pretty much all of the good teams in the SEC run aggressive press coverage so, unless they change up their D when they face Miss St, we are going to see a lot of deep shots all year from them as we did against LSU.
