That wasn't well thought out.

I'm not a MAGA guy but I'd rather shop somewhere else if Goodyear thinks they can play thought police with their employees like that.

what about the highest levels of government bullying a private corporation into changing it's employee policies? Would you support that?

Seems about right

Stupid. Bet the stock-holders are jumping out of windows.

They should ban everything you listed. Why pi$$ off a customer.

I agree. It's bad business. That's why I am against players taking a knee or with social justice slogans. It's just bad business imo.

Agree, ban all political speech or have totally free political speech. Picking a side is going to hurt most companies which aren't called Nike.

true

But seeing as how pretty much every conservative on this board claims they never liked Goodyear tires anyway, this could actually just be a clever marketing and branding strategy. ;)

I saw a few Biden stickers in Wilmington, NC. Kind of surprised me. I wouldn't want a Biden sticker on my car. I don't want my car keyed or to have some wacko freak out.

Partially Fake News

Aug 19, 2020, 9:25 PM

Goodyear claims that slide was not part of any training class/presentation/etc. I thought their statement was well thought out.

Their tires still sucks though.

So did Trump fall for fake news again?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes. That guy that ran through here a while back yelling,

Aug 19, 2020, 9:35 PM

“The British are coming!”, he was full of it. I call him Panicky Paul! Hoax!!! Revere is rong!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Unclear.

Aug 19, 2020, 9:38 PM [ in reply to Re: Partially Fake News ]

The statement reads it wasn't made by Goodyear corporate. Doesn't mean so local office didn't do it and want to enforce it.

The jacklegs I worked with at Goodyear did far worse than that slide.

Goodyear? I thought this was a slide at the Dem convention.

What struck me most is that a single blurry picture

Aug 20, 2020, 7:40 AM

of what looks like a Power Point slide would be the cause of so much consternation. How do we know it's real? How do we know it wasn't made by just one low-level HR guy at one facility somewhere? This is something I've been working with folks on when dealing with social media. Don't just run with anything you might see and go off the deep end. Take your time to do research and figure out the truth of the matter before spreading something.

The audacity of the President of the United States calling for a national boycott of an entire company based on this one photo is alarming.

Re: What struck me most is that a single blurry picture

Aug 20, 2020, 8:16 AM

its is real because goodyear did not deny it, just said it wasnt from corporate

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did Goodyear make a statement before or after

Aug 20, 2020, 12:05 PM

the President had already tweeted out for a national boycott?

Doesn't the fact that it wasn't a corporate directive, but a local one, mean it's inappropriate to boycott the corporation?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I could literally make this power point slide in 10 minutes

Aug 20, 2020, 8:14 AM

Did this actually happen?

Not saying it didn't, but that powerpoint is anything but damning evidence.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I could literally make this power point slide in 10 minutes

Aug 20, 2020, 8:18 AM

if you draw a big penus on the power point slide that says no, it might get a little more attention from some of the people who don't take this seriously. It has worked for me in the past, especially when presenting boring an dry material. It lets you know WHO is paying attention, and who is not.
