Socks question

So a few yrs ago, it was the cool thing to have black socks. Now im seeing all the cool kids with mid level white socks.

I cant keep up

if wearing them with shorts that is not cool. I never wear socks except with jeans or dress up and only then in cold weather.

Not scok, I read it as "stock question"? Anyway, socks do help prevent blisters. I like merino wool ones.
