Pitt head coach compares ACC leaders Clemson and Notre Dame

Pat Narduzzi’s Pitt football team has already played on the road at Notre Dame this season, a 45-3 loss, and now must travel to Clemson Saturday for a contest against No. 4 Clemson. Narduzzi was asked Monday how Clemson and Notre Dame compare, and he said he will need to see the Tigers in person before making a fair assessment. He does know that Clemson is deep and talented. Pretty blunt about what they are going to do on defense. No secret.

Why not be blunt?

Notre Dame exposed our weaknesses. Any team with a decent defense can shut down our run game because our OL stinks. And without the big weapons for Trevor to throw to on the outside, they can focus on defending the middle of the field. I feel bad for Etienne. A back like him deserves a better product than what Caldwell is putting out there.

Hopefully we get everyone back on defense, and those guys who have been out for weeks can somehow play at mid-season form. Hopefuly our DL can mount some sort of pass rush while not allowing the QB to escape on every scramble.

Correction: Pitt played Notre Dame at home in Pittsburgh.

Pitt did not travel to South Bend this year.

He's secretly texting Dabo saying "Dude, don't take it out on us, please!"

If anyone has watched any of Pitt's games you can see they will be stacking the box, so they will be forcing Trevor to throw but if he gets a seam, he will run it on them which msy cause Pitt to backoff on stacking the box. Throw DJ and Trevor in at the same time and confuse them. Nothing crazy, just a different look with DJ under center and Trevor wideout along with ETN and another TE or running back. Don't know if it would work, but give them a different look from time to time to keep them on their heels. Just my 2 cents worth. Really need to stay focused on this game as Pitt is not a sloppy team.

I’m not sure why we don’t try using double TE’s to help the run game
