We need to improve our non conference schedule over the next 5 years for sure!

Regarding this season, I think Dabo knows what's going on, the media created narrative, and we'll win out, scoring 50 plus per game, and put that arguement to rest.

Either way, undefeated Conference Champion, defending NC, is an automatic to the CFP, whether the media likes it or not.

TAMU and Scar are 2 of the best out of conference games any school in the nation plays.

Only 2 P-5 games on the schedule? Is ACC moving to Group of five? LOL.

Louisville, Arkansas State, Louisiana (Ragin' Cajuns, not LSU), and The Citadel.

IIRC, UConn was added to our schedule because Georgia dropped the then-way-in-the-future series some 15 years ago.

No, that would cost us 50 million just to leave, plus the

40 million in ACC revenue sharing. The AP and Coaches Polls don’t matter, the only poll that counts is the college football playoff poll. The College Football Playoffs are owned by the P5 conferences and a undefeated conference champion isn’t going to get left out, it would collapse the partnership. The ACC & the SEC are the only conferences to have a team in the playoffs every year and the ACC has won 3 of the last 6 national titles. An undefeated Clemson is a 100% lock for the playoffs.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We need other ACC teams to pull their weight.

Oct 28, 2019, 5:23 AM

VT and Miami in particular.

Re: We need other ACC teams to pull their weight.

Oct 28, 2019, 7:24 AM

FSU more than anyone else. They're the main program outside of Clemson that people usually assume will carry their weight. And they have fallen apart since 2017.

If you think about it, Clemson, FSU, VT, Miami, and Louisville are all programs that strive to be really good, or that in the past have strived to be really good. For the overall image of the conference, I'd like to see a few of those other teams rise up and challenge Clemson.

GT is sitting in the middle of one of the best recruiting hotbeds in the nation. One day, probably after I'm dead, our admin will realize it and take the handcuffs off the program. Maybe Collins will get us closer to that point in about 3 years.

Mack Brown and UNC....can he bring them back to where he left them in the 90's? And NC State? They have a good fanbase, but never seem to be able to get over the hump.

There are a lot of programs in this conference with potential, but only one is getting the job done right now.

That’s pretty knee jerk on a 66 year relationship

that we founded based on a down year and an assumption on what gets us into the playoffs.

Good grief. You should really look to "real life" issues to be more concerned about.

For the millionth time... The AP Poll, Coaches Poll, ESPN Power ranking, Finebaum list, Herbstreit list, or any other ranking is MEANINGLESS. None of these polls have any impact on the CFP Committee ranking which is the ONLY poll that matters.

Furthermore, by the end of all the Conference Championship games (7 December 2019) it is only possible for there to be 4 or less remaining undefeated Power 5 teams. In all likelihood, there will be no more than 3 remaining Power 5 undefeated teams as I doubt that Baylor makes it through the rest of the Big 12 unscathed. If Clemson wins out (which we should) WE ARE IN. There is simply no way the CFP Committee is going to leave out a reigning National Champion that is also an undefeated Power 5 conference champion.

NO IT IS TIME FOR THE TEAMS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD, I.E. FSU, VPI, MIAMI AND OTHERS TO GET THEIR SH!T TOGETHER AND BE GOOD AGAIN. WIN AND WE ARE IN. HOW DO SOME OF YOU PEOPLE FUNCTION IN THE REAL WORLD.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No and there is zero chance we are left out if we win out.

False narrative

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I do have to chuckle a bit at the reality

Oct 28, 2019, 7:56 AM

Of Clemson paying 'x' amount to leave the ACC, versus the annual revenue that, for the most part of late, is being generated by Clemson! There's something wrong with that picture. ;)

Granted, other programs could step up, just as Clemson did several years back. Flip side, FSU has rolled out what is clearly a very aggressive 'Book Club' that is sapping attendance at the Doak!

I don't recall any other conferences inviting Clemson to join. The SEC would just like to see Clemson go away.

Also, we founded the ACC, after all.

I will give the #1 reason why we will keep with the ACC -

The coots got all huffy and left.

We are the opposite of the coots.

Out of all the teams that "left and realigned" only one had success (ie won a conference title) afterwards. Virginia Tech. Maybe FSU if you consider that in a bubble.

Miami, BC, Louisville, Cuse, Pitt, Maryland, Rutgers, Nebraska, Mizzou, Colorado, Utah, West Virginia, Arky, and Coots.

They are like 0-100 for conference titles.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The AP and Coaches poll don't matter.

Oct 28, 2019, 8:50 AM

Their only used to drum up callers for sports talk shows and boost ESPN ratings. Being ranked #1 in either of those polls is like being the tallest midget.
