LOL.........Let's Suppose

Dec 3, 2020, 5:43 AM

Let's suppose for a second.

Suppose the ACC Championship game does not get played for one reason or another.

Wouldn't Clemson and Notre Dame then square off in the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs?

There would certainly be a bunch of whining and teeth-gnashing going on all over the country.

Seems hilarious to me.

Carry on.

Lets SUPPOSE, for a second that the SECCG is played, and Florida upsets Bama.
Then Ohio State get in as an undefeated team, regardless of the number of games they play.
That gives you an undefeated Notre Dame, who wins by default, an undefeated Ohio State because they are the darling of the CFP Committee, and two teams from the eSECpn which we all know is biased.
Do you see Clemson in that group of 4?
Now remember ,we are only SUPPOSING!

Do you know that for a fact?

Using this scenario, Clemson would’ve lost to the #1 team

And Alabama would’ve lost to probably the #3 or #4 team in Florida. Our loss came on the road with a depleted team while Alabama lost in a neutral site game while fully loaded. Clemson gets in over Alabama in this scenario.

Not if the ACCCG isn't played, which was the supposed topic which began this.
But this is why I don't like to look ahead.
Play out the season. Whose to say Notre Dame wouldn't beat Clemson again.
There is ,after all that "supposedly " Luck of the Irish" moniker.

Well, if Florida beats Alabama, OSU is undefeated at 6 (or less) games, and the ACCCG does not get played...

then the Coots get left out of a bowl game... while Clemson still makes it to the playoffs. :)
