Tigers,

Oct 19, 2020, 4:19 PM

If you could please say a prayer for the family of Dylan Adams, from Hartsville. He gained his wings Saturday night, after giving all he had to fight cancer. He was in the eighth grade and an awesome baseball player. He loved Clemson with all his heart. His school, Hartsville Middle, will be wearing Clemson gear to honor him tomorrow.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

My prayers and condolences to his family and loved ones. He'll be knocking home runs in Clemson orange to the cheers of multitudes. I firmly believe they play baseball in Heaven - after all, it is the greatest sport God ever invented.

God bless.

Dylan went to school with my nephews. He hit a home run off of my son in travel baseball. The young man was a beast on the ball field. I can’t imagine what his parents are going through. Yessir, #99Strong.

Re: Tigers,

Oct 20, 2020, 1:39 PM

Here is his obituary. Life if so precious. God bless you all and I’m sure Dylan will have the best seat in the house to cheer on his Tigers to the National Championship!

A Celebration of Life for Dylan Morrison Adams will held at 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon, October 21st, 2020, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with a private burial following. Pastor Patrick Dye will officiate. The family will be receiving friends 1:00 until 3:30 prior to the services at the church. This service will also be available for viewing live on the Norton Funeral Home Facebook Page beginning at 3:30 PM on Wednesday.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Mike and Jennifer Adams. Grandparents Faye Morrison, Mike Adams and Tammy (Tony) Gainey. Aunt Tisha (Allen) Jones. Cousin Ethan Jones. Many extended family, baseball family and good friends.

He was preceeded in death by grandfather Tommy Morrison

Dylan loved baseball! He played from before he could lace his own cleats. He was known for a big swing, a strong arm and the well known nickname “Big D”. He proudly wore #99. He accomplished many things on the diamond. He was a member of the 2015, 2017 Dixie Youth State Championship and World Series teams. He won the 2017 batting championship in the World Series in Oxford,AL. Dylan holds the individual state record for most Home Runs in a game. In 2019 Dylan was inducted into the South Carolina Dixie Youth Hall of Fame. Dylan was to attend College of Charleston on a baseball scholarship.

Aside from baseball Dylan has many loves. God, his family, his friends, cruising the neighborhood on his golf cart with the music too loud, riding 4 wheelers, playing ball, Clemson football, Hartsville Northern League, fishing and his hometown Red Foxes.

Dylan was a brave, courageous, strong, perfect boy who never let his circumstances get him down. He had a smile that brightened every room he walked in and a heart just as big. He fought with everything he had and at the end of his battle- HE WON!

Special thanks to the team at MUSC Children’s Oncology clinic for the great care received through his journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials May be made to: Hartsville Northern League, PO Box 853, Hartsville SC 29551, or MUSC Children's Hospital Fund, 59 Bee Street, MSC 201, Charleston, SC 29425.

Norton Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Adams family.
