GREENSBORO, N.C. – Seventy-five student-athletes from ACC programs were selected during the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, which concluded on Wednesday.

The total stands as the most in league history, topping the previous record of 65 in 2014, and is tied for the most from any conference in the country. It marks the 11th time in the last 12 years that at least 50 league players have been selected. Also extended was a streak of 26 straight years with at least one first round pick from the league.

All 14 ACC programs had at least one player drafted. Clemson and Florida State led the ACC and tied for fourth most in the country with nine players selected. Louisville, NC State, and Wake Forest all had eight players picked.

Of the 30 MLB teams, 27 drafted at least one player from the ACC led by the Angels, Marlins, Yankees, and Rays with five apiece.
