CORAL GABLES, FLA. - The No. 4 Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes broke open their 3-1 lead with five runs in the fifth inning en route to a 10-5 victory over No. 12 Clemson at Mark Light Field on Sunday afternoon. The Hurricanes, who swept the series 3-0, improved to 20-4 overall and 7-2 in the ACC. The Tigers fell to 17-6 overall and 5-4 in ACC play.

After Chase Pinder extended his hitting streak to 10 games in the first inning, Seth Beer hit a home run on the first pitch of the second inning, his 11th long ball of the year, to up his hitting streak to 21 games, tied for the 16th longest in school history. But the Hurricanes scored a run in the third inning, two runs in the fourth inning and five runs on only two hits in the fifth inning. Pinder and Chris Okey added solo homers in the sixth inning, then Pinder hit his second homer of the game and eighth of the year in the ninth inning.

Miami starter Danny Garcia (4-2) earned the win by allowing eight hits, three runs and one walk with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched. Tiger starter Alex Eubanks (2-2) suffered the loss, as he gave up seven runs (five earned) on eight hits in 4.0 innings pitched.

The Tigers play Furman at Fluor Field on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by American Sports Network, WACH (Columbia, S.C.), WMMP (Charleston, S.C.), WMYA (Greenville, S.C.), WTGS (Savannah, Ga.) and WWMB (Myrtle Beach, S.C.).
