Playing time breakdown: O-line goes distance, rotation tight overall against BC

by - Staff Writer -

Another tight game in the second half -- this time until the final minutes -- meant as small of a rotation as any game this season.

Clemson's five O-line starters were on the field for every recorded offensive snap (81), as well as freshman QB DJ Uiagalelei.

Veteran receivers Amari Rodgers (74) and Cornell Powell (70) both reached the 70-mark on snaps for the first time this season. Travis Etienne played the bulk of the RB snaps (67), with Lyn-J Dixon playing the other seven.

The inactive list was littered with defenders but the secondary did still mix some reserves with nine DBs playing in all.

Jake Venables played 63 snaps, grading among Clemson's best defenders, in place of James Skalski again, and freshman former 5-star prospect Trenton Simpson saw 29 plays in place of Mike Jones Jr., also due to injury.
