Early enrollee

Brings to Clemson: Briningstool brings another talented receiving threat into Clemson’s offense after earning region co-MVP honors this season for Ravenwood (Tn.). He tallied 111 catches for 1,955 yards and 23 touchdowns and was also a productive linebacker with seven sacks and a forced fumble. He’s put on weight to grow into a frame similar to current Tiger TEs Davis Allen and Braden Galloway out of high school.

Depth chart fit: Allen and Galloway should be back in 2021 but Briningstool will only up the competition in the room and make the Clemson offense better out of the gates.

Danny Pearman on Briningstool: "Jake is definitely a mismatch on the outside and perimeter game for most people. He has size. He has length. He runs extremely well. He has a great catch radius. And he does a great job in the red zone of being a great target for quarterbacks. He plays attach-tight end and he plays in the backfield and he plays flexed out wide. Very versatile from that standpoint and very athletic and does a great job not only in the run game but definitely a weapon in the pass game as well. Just excited about his future."
