Clemson redshirt sophomore left-hander Jake Higginbotham was selected with the 322nd overall pick in the 11th round of the MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves Wednesday.

Higginbotham started 16 games this season and went 6-1, holding a 3.47 ERA.

He redshirted in 2017 and missed the end of the 2016 season after suffering a stress fracture in his elbow. The Hoschton, Georgia native went 3-0 with a 4.59 ERA in 2016.

Higginbotham was drafted in the 27th round out of Buford High School by the New York Mets initially. He was a first-team All-American by both Louisville Slugger and USA TODAY as a senior.

Higginbotham is a fifth Tiger to be selected in the draft so far, joining Seth Beer (28th, Houston Astros), Ryley Gilliam (140th, New York Mets), Ryan Miller (189th, Arizona Diamondbacks) and Chris Williams (244th, Minnesota Twins).
