Former Clemson standout inks deal with Spurs |
Former Clemson forward Jaron Blossomgame has signed a training camp deal with the San Antonio Spurs.
Blossomgame has spent the last year with the Austin Spurs and the Las Vegas Summer League. During the NBGL regular season, he averaged a team-leading 16.5 points, 8.2 rebounds (most on team), and 1.4 assists per game. In the Summer league, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 13.0 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds in 25.8 minutes per game. If the Spurs don't sign him to a long-term deal at the end of training camp, they will have to use their final two-way contract or waive his rights so that another team will get a shot at the versatile forward. He was the 59th overall selection, the 29th pick of the second round, by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2017 NBA Draft. He finished his four-year Clemson career with 87 games in double figures in scoring, and 32 games with at least 20 points, both of which are top-10 totals in school history. He finished his career ranked fifth in Clemson record books with 1,733 points and eighth with 831 rebounds.
