the nod not because of an athletic advantage over the others. Athletic ability is a given at this level in this state. Blanks, however, possesses a keen eye and cerebral approach to the game of receiver coverage. Blanks rarely gets juked, keeps his pad level low in the back-pedal and can turn on a dime, yet knows exactly when to make that turn. Good QBs read a DB's hips. Turn too early and you're toast. Blanks doesn't get burnt often.
Picking the top safety in the 2012 class of prospect in the state of Florida is not an easy task. The top four players could be selected as No. 1 and it wouldn't necessarily be wrong. The safety position is the most difficult, by far, of all positions to rank in the Class of 2012.
