Clemson has offered 4-star 2017 wide receiver
Nico Collins
Nico Collins TigerNet spoke with Collins on Saturday morning and he is excited about the Clemson offer. Coach Hobby visited his high school on Friday and that is when he learned of the offer. Collins has been impressed with the Clemson offense the last few years. "The offensive is very good and the wide receivers make plays," Collins said. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Clemson, Middle Tennessee State, Louisville, Mississippi, Mississippi State and others. His first offer was from Mississippi State. Auburn, Georgia and Alabama are among the schools that will be a factor in his recruitment moving forward. However, Oregon was his favorite school growing up but they have not offered yet. As a sophomore, he had 39 receptions for 805 yards (20.6 average) and 15 touchdowns and was named 2nd team All-State. Clay-Chalkville won the 6A State title in 2014 and their overall record is 64-11 and 40-3 at home in the last six seasons. Collins has a chance to be a 5-star prospect during his senior season because of his size and obvious talent. He plans to make his college decision during his senior season. His older brother DeShon Collins plays defensive tackle at Carson-Newman.
