Goldman worked on his weaknesses all freshman year and through the offseason. And he hasn’t let up since, despite being ranked the country’s best player at his position.
Last year, Goldman delivered a dominant junior campaign in which he tallied 70 tackles, including 22 for loss, and 10 sacks. But he thinks he can do even better. So all spring and summer he trained with his coaches and teammates, lifting weights in addition to boxing to increase his hand speed and doing yoga to improve his flexibility and agility.
Based on his workout regimen, it’s clear he hasn’t let all the attention derail his desire to get to the NFL.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity, but that’s all it is — an opportunity,” says Goldman. “I don’t really pay attention to it. I still have to get my teammates better and get myself better. And I still have to go to college and prove myself there.”
He will play in the US Army All American Game. He has made unofficial visits to Miami, Georgia, Clemson, NC State, UNC, Maryland, Auburn, Alabama, Florida and FSU. Has camped at Penn State and Miami. Class of 2012 ESPNU 150 Watch List Recruit.
