Uriah found out about the Irish offer on Friday. “My coach came and told me during lunch,” he said. “It was a little shocking, but at the same time exciting. I hadn’t heard a whole great deal from them since last year when their coach came out. They said they would be doing my evaluation.”

Now LeMay will continue his own evaluation of Notre Dame, which he’s done unofficially by watching games on television.

“From what I can see, they set their receivers up against the defense with a lot of one-on-one coverage and like to go deep and stretch it out,” he said.

As a junior, Uriah is still in the early stages of the process.

“He’s still developing interest in where he would like to go,” his father said. “He’s still early in it right now. He would like to have an idea of what he wants to do by the summer, but right now he’s just focusing on Butler football, enjoying his junior season and trying to win a third state championship in a row.”
