From The Times and Democrat:
“It’s somewhat true,” Williams said Monday when asked if Clemson was the leading suitor for his talents. “They were telling me that I could come in and play my freshman year, learn from Sammy (Watkins) and play behind (DeAndre) ‘Nuke’ Hopkins.” Williams went to Clemson over the weekend with his grandparents and had an unofficial visit with the Tigers while at Clemson’s “All In’’ clookout, he said. With that behind him, Williams has no intention of making more visits. He said he will announce whether he will play for the Tigers or the Gamecocks on July 31. As a junior, he had 66 receptions for 1296 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he had 42 receptions. He prefers to play football close to home. Clemson's recruiter of record are Jeff Scott and Marion Hobby. He was Preseason Elite 11 watch list selection by the Orangeburg (S.C.) Times and Democrat. Clemson offered Williams on May 18th, 2011. He attended camp at Clemson on June 15th, 2011. He took an unofficial visit to Clemson for the Clemson-Wake Forest game.
However, Williams recently divulged in a report according to South Carolina recruiting analyst Phil Kornblut that Clemson has a slight edge over South Carolina in adding the T&D All-Area flanker to its roster.
