(Tarboro, N.C./Tarboro) was impressed with what he saw Saturday in the Georgia Bulldogs' locker room, as coach Mark Richt congratulated his team for defeating Kentucky 19-10 and winning the SEC East title. But what stood out more this season for the four-star prospect is how the coach kept the team together when it had stared down an 0-2 start. "When I went to visit for the South Carolina game, I was hearing Mark Richt was not going to be there next year," Gurley said. "I had a call early on in the season and someone asked me about him being on the hot seat. I said I was not worried about it. ... I know what the team has in him by just being in that locker room after the loss to South Carolina. He never harped on anyone, and was actually lifting them up. ... Look at them now; he has them on a nine-game winning streak and it is looking like they are one of the best right now." Gurley took his official visit to Georgia for that game versus South Carolina in September, and most recently took an official visit to Clemson. While the Tigers still trail Georgia and North Carolina on his list, Gurley admitted he used to imagine himself rubbing Howard's Rock before games. "I grew up an LSU fan since Nick Saban was there, but I always wanted to play for Clemson," Gurley said. "Watching one of my favorite running backs in C.J. Spiller run down the hill in Death Valley, you never expect to have that opportunity as a kid."
It would be easy to say that running back
