Clemson did not take a quarterback in the 2005 signing class, but they were looking for one possibly two quarterbacks in 2006. Clemson was able to find their quarterback without leaving the upstate.
Michael Wade, from Riverside High School, committed to Clemson back during the summer. He attended every Clemson home game this year, but he made his official visit to Clemson this past weekend. "It was awesome. I had a great time. Cullen Harper was my host. We got along great. He really is a good guy. We spent a lot of time with Jad (Dean) and Richard (Jackson). I imagine we will spend a lot of time hanging out with those guys the next two years." "On my tour, we went through all of the academic stuff that was pretty cool. On Friday, we ate in the President's box in the stadium. After that they took us on the field and showed us a highlight video." The West Endzone has been a big attraction for recruits this year. The West Endzone Project is not completed, but Wade and the fellow prospects were given a tour this weekend. "They took us in the locker room, and then they took us to the second floor, where the player's lounge is going to be. It is just walls right now, but the West Endzone is going to be awesome." Wade did do some recruiting for the Tigers this weekend. "I talked to Terry (Grant) a little bit and Kevin Alexander. I am not sure what they are going to do, but I think they had a good time." Wade had his meeting with offensive coordinator Rob Spence before leaving. "Me, my parents, and Coach Spence had a meeting. He showed me a play and a formation. It is a complicated offense, and it will take awhile to learn. Coach Spence really knows a lot, and I am going to learn a lot from him." Wade will not take any other official visits.
