On The Today Show, in a piece about how employers are now expecting more and more workers to return to the office as remote, werk-from-home jobs dwindle, a frustrated woman just said this:

"What good is having a house if you don't get to spend your time there because you are commuting to work? And what good is having a job if you can't enjoy any time off?"

Right. If you can't work in your jammies and go to yoga when you want to, then work is an injustice.

Look, I'm all about having a reasonable work/life balancce and not "living to work" or being jerked around by the man. I've always been a bit of a rebel myself in that way. If my job can be done just as effectively from home as it can in an office, then of course, I'm all for it. "Work" should, by all means, be rewarding and fullfilling on some level. However, it seems we now have a whole swath of people who just can't accept reality and can't handle going to work. It's called "work" for a reason.

ideas of what 'fulfilling' means? If someone doesn't find a job fulfilling nowadays, they move to something that may be more so. It's a shift in thinking from the 'older' ways, but seems to be people are just placing more emphasis on what they enjoy than they used to.

I WFH but would rather have a hybrid schedule and a place to go into occasionally. WFH gets lonely.

It doesn't in the least. I guess you missed this part:

I've changed jobs multiple times for that very reason. I've walked away from and turned down offers for much higher paying jobs for that reason. For me, being happy in my work and not dreading it every day has always been far more important that the money. That balance has always been critical for me.

What I'm talking about here is people whining because that hevae to leave their home go to work, as if it is some kind of injustice.

I think you and I differ in what is considered fulfilment

a lot of people get fulfilment or think they will by working from home.

Many more, if they can achieve desired results at home, would argue it is unnecessary (I agree, injustice is too strong of a word), to go into work. Lastly, Corporations want butts in seats to justify their rent and to keep an eye on employees. If you feel the need to keep watch over your employees, that's on the company for hiring that type of person.

If I met all of my goals at home but was told I needed to come in to be supervised, I'd be perturbed as well.

Not trying to start something, just a bit different perspective it seems.

I still think it's a bad sign when people complain about having to go to work.

It’s a generalization. If someone quits a job cause they don’t want to commute, it’s an opportunity for someone else. That’s a fact.

For the Southern Baptists out there,” God don’t close a door without opening a window.”

Just perception, man.

Nowhere have I mentioned "young whippersnappers", or young people. The only group I have referenced is the group who is complaining about having to go to work as if it is an injustice of some kind.

I'm not the one making sweeping generalizations here.
