Bad calls happen but that doesn't negate the fact that it was a bad call. The missed targeting call has nothing to do with the kickoff.

Kirk is as good as any college football commentator on any of the networks. He does a great job of being objective and fair when he calls games.

It's perfectly reasonable for him to criticize a blown call that has that much of an impact on the game. I personally don't ever like even a slightly questionable call to have a major impact on the end of a game. It's that much worse when it appears to be a completely blown call to fans of both sides.


That being said, I'm happy as a pig in slop that they did blow that call. Of course it's only fair considering the bogus interception call that they gave UNC that led to one of their TD's.
