Whoops, sorry. I thought you said Perry Noble.

Now that I'm here, I would say Cole is/was better than both.

Well , he looked better against Oklahoma . Maybe worse against GT .
If I had to say anything to contrast the two , Cole was taller with better hair .

Outside of Oklahoma, it was nothing short of amazing that

Nov 10, 2015, 3:55 PM

we won some games last year with Stoudt struggling so badly. Orth has at least given them a chance. But their defense is just garbage.

I'm just glad we're not in that situation again.

Agreed, that GT game was infuriating.

Let me preface this with.....this is my opinion, not based on any fact. If Cole Stout would have had Brandon Streeter as his coach all year long he would have been a better QB. Chad Morris had little patience for any player that made mistakes and also "didn't fit his system" and he arrogantly refused to recalibrate his high powered offense around Cole's different skill set. Also, Cole played hurt for a good portion of the season. Honestly, he was a bigger man than I probably would have been by the way he had to endure all of the hate, anger and ridicule directed at him by some fans. I'm actually glad he is gone, not because he wasn't good but because he was treated so poorly, it was embarrassing. Just my take and NO, Perry Orth isn't better at this stage of his career than Cole Stout.

Cole Stoudt was not healthy any that last year until the bowl game.

Perry Orth wears Cole Stoudt underwear.

Does that help? I hope that helps.

Nov 10, 2015, 4:08 PM

I doubt it.

Honestly I would have to say Orth is better. He doesn't have a heck of alot of proven receivers and is doing ok. Stoudt had very good receivers and really couldn't get it done except for the Oklahoma game. Still proud of him though.

Cole Stoudt was much better than given credit for...

Nov 10, 2015, 5:03 PM

I talked to Cole several times during last season. I could see very clearly from Game 1 last year he was playing too tight. Go back and watch him prior to last season. The guy made good decisions, had a very good arm, good touch, etc. Much more mobile than given credit for as well.

He put too much on himself. He let the pressure get to him and thought he needed to carry the team on his back. While that is what happens a lot of times, Cole didn't need to. The program was blessed with more playmakers than we could have on the field at one time. We needed a game manager that was safe with the ball.

I talked to him right before the bowl game. He knew he was going to start and still felt the pressure. I told him, dude, you did great when you just went out there and had fun. Let the playmakers make plays, you are not running a 2 minute drill on every down. Go out there enjoy your last game as a Tiger and go have fun.

Im not claiming that this caused him to relax and have one of the greatest bowl performances in Clemson history but we saw what he did. He was spectacular. If you watch that game again you can see clearly he was just having fun. He was cool the entire game.

This was the real Cole. Not the guy who threw pick after pick.

As for Perry Orth, I haven't seen anything from hkm that would lead me to believe that he is any better than the lower 30-40% of all FBS QB's. Granted his team lacks talent at almost every position, save for a Pharoh Cooper, Jarrell Adams, Brandon Wilds. Nunez, IMO is not too spectacular either. He is much better with his legs than his arm. But he's still very young and has time to mature (if he lives that long in that talentless dump of a program).

So to conclude, Yes I believe Stoudt was a better QB than Orth.

With Chad Morris as QU coach and OC Yes with Streeter

Nov 10, 2015, 5:14 PM

and Elliot and Jeff Scott, NO ! He was 3 and out Stoudt and pick six Stoudt with CM coaching and his father really didn't like CM. Whitehurst and his father that player pro ball thought that CM was a terrible QB coach
