I’m assuming that Hyatt will stay. With that being said, does JC move to LG or does he play RT? Also, what redshirt guys from 2017 do you guys see pushing for playing time? Will the OL be better next year?
In my opinion (for what it is worth) Carman will probably start out at tackle and move inside if he is better suited there this year. He could backup Hyatt if he comes back (which is a possibility) or either Pollard or Anchrum at right tackle, if there is significant coverage at Guard, or Carman could start at RT or one of the Guard positions right off it just depends on his ability to pick up the playbook. I definitely think Simpson will play one of the guard spots, with Bockhorst, Stewart and Penner being in the mix for the two deep rotation. Dehond is the wild card. He has all the tools, but was a little unrefined in technique coming out of high school. It will be interesting to see if he has developed enough to contribute next year, and whether he will contribute at tackle or guard. The development of Carman, Dehond, Vinson and Bockhorst will be the deciding factor on how the starting line looks by the start of next season. Right now (and this is way too early) I see the starting line up like this with potential backups following:
