This ^. They love using the portal in their rankings. I keep saying a 3rd year player isn’t the same as a true freshman. The recruiting rankings can project how you may look in 2-3 years. Transfer portal players are suppose to be immediate contributors.

So in reality what you should do is take a third year player, add him to your class three years ago, as well as subtract any player from said class that transferred out and re-rank that class. Same concept for 2nd, 4th, and 5th year players.
