247Sports with an absurdly early CFP projection

The College Football Playoff expands to 12 teams in 2024 and 247Sports can't wait to get a prediction in on it, which featured Clemson on Thursday.
The format is set to have the Top 4 conference champions getting a bye to the quarterfinals, where Clemson is projected as a 3-seed to take on 6-seed Michigan in the Sugar Bowl:
Sugar Bowl (Jan. 1, 2025)
Projected matchup: No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 6 Michigan
On paper, this battle is salivating. You have Dabo Swinney against Jim Harbaugh with a berth in the playoff semifinals on the line. The Wolverines would have handled Florida State at home the previous week and now get to take on the ACC champions.
The projection has Michigan upsetting Clemson and moving on to the semifinals at the Orange Bowl versus 1-seed Georgia.

set up. We all know at least 2 SEC teams will be seeded higher. Top 4 receiving byes will always be some combo of only BIG and SEC teams😏

Wrong. That’s why the top 4 must be conference champs. Now what they can do is screw the ACC and give the top 4 spots to SEC, Big 10, Pac 12, and Big 12 and give us the 5 seed with no bye. However then we would get a first round playoff game in Death Valley

It’s already messed up as Oklahoma can’t be the big 12 champ if they are in the SEC. Maybe they meant Oklahoma State. A Bama vs Uga title is definitely plausible though. Hope we are not in the sugar bowl.

will be played and how the process works. Who they've chosen to seed is insignificant but since we expect to win our conference championship we get a 1st round bye.

FSU was 11. The CUvsUM is a quarterfinal game - 3v6 would be correct for that.
