$60million for a high school stadium

Aug 19, 2013, 11:33 AM

No other state can compare to high school football in Texas. Check this out...

Saw that last year. Mind-boggling that it is a high school stadium. I cannot comprehend facilities like that for high school ball. It is pretty sweet though.

The City of Allen saw this as an investment opportunity too. The stadium has already hosted a variety of events such as a College All Star game, other division of texas highschool football playoff games, etc.

These events bring in revenue for the hotels and resturants for the surrounding area.

The opening game last year was against South Lake Carroll and was televised by ESPN. There were 21,000 people in the stadium.

HS that have stadiums that hold 15k+ were sending people away. I saw 2 HS stadiums that are nicer than many small colleges. Many had boxes and video screens

amazing that Mack brown hasn't won a ton of championships with the HS football they have

WOW...big time programs that dwarf some college teams.

As some would say on here...germans

But it still pretty cool though. Just goes to show you how much Texas cares about its football.

They sell that place out every game too. I heard they sold about 15,000 season tickets before the season even started.

Also, 2015 QB Kyler Murray is Allen's QB and has an offer and some interest from Clemson. Playing in a big stadium won't be anything new to a kid like that.
