So blessed to say that God has given me 75 wonderful birthdays! As a cancer survivor and ischemic stroke survivor, my gratitude is immense. Although I can no longer golf, play tennis or travel on long trips, there are still so many activities I can still do. I enjoy gourmet cooking, spending time with our grandchildren, dining out, enjoying meals with friends, walking, watching Tiger football and lifting weights. Yep, I am totally blessed, and thought I'd share a picture of Mr. Sabletiger and me representing in the Cayman Islands about 10-12 years ago.

Hey, older buddy.....Youngster here at only 73 circles around the sun.
Congrats on making it this long and this far. I would bet that you, like me have lost good friends and relatives not lucky enough to have lasted this long. Thanks be to God for so much time at the party to which we were all invited. Enough of looking backwards.
What are the good surprises you have noticed while living 3/4s of a century by the grace of God?
Here are some of my surprises.....
1. I am still here. Many of my friends, uncles, father, grandfather and so forth did not enjoy as long a time here on earth as I have. Feels lucky and blessed to be here.
2. I had no idea, zero, nada of a thought that at 70+, I would still be largely the same fellow whom I was at 35. Really, I thought that somewhere along the way, I'd step through the door of maturity and think really differently than I did when I was young. Hasn't happened for me. I hope it never does.
3. (Young guys please look away. Women, please ignore if necessary) If you had told me when I was 30 that at some point in my life I would know more than a few 70 year old women whom I continued to find really attractive, I would have scoffed. A blessing of being older is the discovery of the eternal beauty of women. Thanks ladies. We all appreciate you forever.
4. I continue to have a bucket list. I am past 70 and still have a lot left I want to do.
5. I have an understanding that every breath, every day, every new season is precious and that I am lucky to be here and aware and more or less able to enjoy it.
So, old timer (as if there is some difference between 73 and 75) what do you have for us younger guys?
