Excellent idea, but who would drive this league?

The ACC, PAC10, and BIG12 conference commissioners seem to pushing for the status quo to keep their administrative positions. They seem to be unable to think outside the box and are afraid to make bold moves.

The new Big 12 commissioner doesn't start until tomorrow Aug 1. The former one couldn't care less any more.

That would effectively end rivalry week in college football

but if that keeps coots out of Clemson, SC every other year, I'll be fine with it.

It’s 3,300 miles from Seattle to Miami so there’s that

I wish people had to pay maybe at least $1 to come up with these stupid ideas. It might cut down on them by about 85%.

It's almost 2800 miles from LA to Rutgers

So 3300 vs 2800 is an extra hour on a plane? That doesn't seem too relevant when billion dollar per year TV contracts are being signed.

The current college sports environment is unstable, to say the least. As Charles Dickens once said, "Never say never."

That would be a great conference and would secure the future. One thing everyone has to remember is a conference is not about fans, it is about the athletes and the schools.

ND would stay independent before doing this. There is no UVA and Duke---dont see UNC splitting from those two.

in a crumbling conference.
I’m sure both would be attractive targets for either the SEC or Big Ten but that would have to be clear for the respective state legislatures to permit it.

It’s just someone’s idea that might be an option so it’s not reality at this point but Notre Dame is the number one money ? maker out of that group and Clemson is second and that’s no reflection who is the better school or team.
In my opinion, Clemson will always be number one easily especially out of the teams that are looking for a way to up their revenue not in the Big 10 or SEC.
Notre Dame will be forced to join some conference eventually to continue to complete with others because they will need good teams to play and a way to be in the playoffs, in my opinion.

Laughable in that why would Notre Dame form a new conference. If they would not join a power conference why would they join and create a new one?

Since you're including UNC & AZ State, why not go ahead

and add NC State and AZ, to make it an even 20 teams? And what about UVA? Are you just assuming they're headed to the B10?

How do they make sense? ND has one school they play regularly in there, Stanford.
Not...A...Chance
Arizona>Arizona St NC St>West Virginia, who outside of WV cares? Colorado>Pitt, no one even in Pittsburgh cares Slippery Rock>Iowa St

Maybe we are recruiting as well as we are, in part, because many student athletes want to play for a title contender without having to travel to every corner of the US to play regular season football games.

This is the interesting part in that rundown that I see.
Clemson Miami Florida State Louisville North Carolina Pitt Virginia Tech Georgia Tech
That's 8 right there that are all part of the current ACC. The Big XII and Pac combined top that by 1, and that 1 = West Virginia, which has no business being out west with the rest of that mess. Added to our members above this is one solid 9-team conference, or division, for football.
Notre Dame is not joining a league for football, especially a start-up.

ND wants to remain independent. IF they join a conference, it will be the B1G.
This proposal is the CFB equivalent of creating Frankenstein's monster with several weak body parts.
Hard pass.

cancel the season in 2020 over covid.
I'd rather Clemson be associated with like-minded institutions. Not knee jerk reactors who are hype bearers for politicians. The Big 10 and the Pac12 were trying to be "leaders" in this cancel the season campaign and it was all based on this politicized culture. While the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 schools were more "wait and see how it plays out" type characters. I don't like moving to the Big 10 or Pac 12. We would be subject to their craziness. But maybe with this list there would be enough red staters to ensure some sanity.
