Another of the million examples of leftist culture eventually hurting the people they purportedly are trying to help. It's 100% obvious to me the 'fairness' culture and victimhood mentality of 'I am being cheated' led to NIL. Fairness and finding victims are favorite pastimes of the left. Smart people know the lefties are only spending time on this to point the finger (and blame) at political opponents to keep themselves in power.
Saban says:
"All the things I’ve believed in for all these years – 50 years of coaching – no longer exist in college athletics. It always was about developing players, always been about helping people be more successful in life.
My wife even said to me – we have all the recruits over on Sunday with their parents for breakfast. She would always meet with the mothers and talk about how she was going to help impact their sons and how they would be well taken care of. She came to me right before I retired and said, ‘Why are we doing this?’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’ She said, ‘All they care about is how much you’re going to pay them. They don’t care about how you’re going to develop them, which is what we’ve always done. So why are you doing this?’"
So what's better?
1) To have earned a college degree in an environment where teaching fundamental human life skills has priority, or
2) To have made some NIL $, that will almost certainly be gone very quickly, probably not graduated in a football-mill that admittedly cares less about the individual than winning and paying?
Congrats democrats - notch one more on your virtue belt because you believe you hepped those in need when you actually supplied a few more nails for their coffin.

i like free persons trading labor for cash, we just need to increase the supply of eligible players to reduce the cost per player
why not let anyone compete, including ex-nfl players who would love to keep playing
no eligibility limits

But if you want to attempt it, the NIL is a 100 percent conservative decision: An individual gets to make money off his or her own abilities and talent AND does not have a government institution restricting this endeavor.
Boom. Suck it. Even you know that's conservative.
If you want to get your panties in a bunch, do it over the NCAA who should have seen this coming and should have had a plan for it. Don't blame the players for taking advantage of the system.
And while I get Saban's points, and I too think the NIL is out of control, it's ridiculous to listen to a millionaire who made those millions with all those players now complain about those players getting a cut of the action.

Nah, it's 100% the left and the culture they have brainwashed half the country to adopt. The cancel culture, woke culture, it's not fair culture. It's not fair to exploit these young men while rich people get richer. The players need their fair share. Of course, not everyone thought that way, but a lot did and do. It's also part of the fat and happy syndrome. This country is so rich, why would a young person need to suffer the ills of free food, lodging, and education? That's horrible! The kid also needs to drive a Porsche - then the world will be right.
