A reminder about Clemson football

This is pretty random, but I know there’s people out there who think about our recent football issues everyday. People that think that Clemson really is going by the wayside.

The reminder is Clemson is a top-5 environment in all of college football. You can attribute that to Dabo a little of course, but this fan base is just simply more passionate than almost every other program. That won’t go away. Unless Clemson has like 15 losing seasons in a row.

I don’t know, just a random thing to help those that are in shambles still.

Was Clemson Top 5 during Bowden or Hatfield? I think the ADs and Dabo substantially changed Clemson along with the President. Can Clemson maintain Top 5 post Dabo, who knows but Dabo resurrected our Brand from Clemsoning which was pretty negative and not Top 5.

Nope. Clemsoning was a Tommy Bowden brand pure and simple.

Ever seen the renderings of how certain statues looked back in its original days......then you see them now and the surface of the statue is brittle looking like an old dried up sponge. The details in the face is basically gone. Missing the arms or missing a leg. Well....that was how Clemson was back in the Hatfield--West eras. Never want to go back to that kind of a fall from glory again.

Clemsoning was purely a media (ESPN) narrative. They built us up knowing we did not have the roster to support their praise then trashed us as if we were the only team who experienced an upset. There were plenty of other teams, particularly in the SEC, who were ranked early in the year then fell out of favor but that was not narrative worthy.

Not knocking your post. I agree that Clemson isn't going anywhere, at least in the near term. But do you really think the Clemson fan base is more passionate than

Alabama
Auburn
OSU
Michigan
Iowa
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Texas
TAMU
LSU
Georgia
Florida
Tennessee
jr.
FSU

I would say all those are equally passionate, and several don't have much to show for it right now (Nebraska) or ever (jr.). We were equally passionate when weren't very good as well. Passion is an important component to success. Without it a team will have a very hard time being successful. Like, say, UNC in football.
