made two critical mistakes in the 9th…took our best pitcher (Grice) out with only 1 out to go and took our best hitter (Amick) out at the same frigging time. Who takes a .400+ batter out in the 9th with the game on the line….and I would have rather let Grice stay in and have a chance to win it than put Ammons out there to blow it…..Our coach is a good hire and has done a great job this year but royalty monked up and blew it in the 9th win those two critical mistakes tonight…..hope we can come back but it ain’t looking good!

Everyone can have an opinion but that does not make it fact. I think he did fine coaching. Anyone can second guess after the fact. Tough loss. The ejection was ridiculous.

Like I said he is a great hire but those decisions he made in the 9th really came back to hurt us…Amick should never have been taken out ….400 + hitter with power who we really missed in innings 10 through 14 …… period!

Once the decision was made to bring in Ammons and take Grice off the mound, either Grice or Amick was coming off. Grice is the seasoned team leader, so you keep him in the game at 1st. Hindsight is 20/20, but once the pitching change was made, it was 100 percent the right move to sub Grice for Amick.

The problem wasn't that Gricecwas taken out, it was tbat our staff see something in Ammons tbat I have an issue with? He ALWAYS gets hit when he pitches. Walks batters in every appearance. Kid is not major D1 level. A local kid, but not an elite player at all. When he was announced, I told my wife this guy cannot get tbe win. Everyone knew it. Threw a 91mph fastball right down the middle with 2 strikes and 2 outs.. no pitcher that's any good does that.

I’ve never seen a kid so shook at that level in that situation. He’s lucky he got the guy to two strikes.

This loss is on Bakich. Can’t take Grice out for someone that’s about to pi$$ their pants. I was watching with the wife and called it as well.

Other issue is our inability to bunt or pull back a bat. Had an easy safety squeeze with their guy in the windup, but nobody can lay one down.
