As such we are seeing this knee jerk reaction by a lot of businesses and Government to get some "AI" into their automation/processes lest they "fall behind". Never mind most of the people that are rushing as fast as they can to get some of that "AI" have no clue how it actually works, what inputs it relies upon and how that affects the outputs, and have given very little thought to understanding the second/third order effects of using AI.

IMO a lot of AI is still not ready for prime time and this mad rush to rely on it for a broad range of applications is premature. Much of the current AI appears to be a fancier version of a garbage-in/garbage-out data retrieval system with a lot of garbage being found in the output.

Lastly, in regards to AI, it feels like we are a bunch of monkeys playing with a microwave oven. We are messing with something that may cause us harm if we don't learn to use it properly and perhaps put some guardrails on it. It really feels like we (citizens and Government leaders) have given way too little thought/discussion to the potential misuse/dangers of AI and simply view it with the same casualness as if it were a phone software update.

well, guess what, if they use your tax information in any way without your permission, IRS will be after them. Totally against the law.

So, how are 'using' AI?

And the acronym is morphing faster than the technology

Listened to a series of interviews with energy folks on how AI can help with electrification and I heard AI of course and ML.
Also AGI, AI assisted ML, Cloud based data processing, automated data processing, and my favorite high speed parallel iterative processing
