have previously expressed sincere sympathies for the families and for the UGA program.

I had no problem with team members being there, providing, of course, all were of legal age, but I questioned why program staff members participated, including offering transportation, according to reports. I think the students' families would also have the same questions, although I had my doubts about Coach Kirby or his immediate staff knowingly or willingly suggesting or authorizing the participation.

Regardless, the AJC is not going to let the matter rest, simply because I think they believe the program was involved at upper echelons with the whole affair. As I believe the NCAA is spineless, I suspect the eventual outcome will involved massive lawsuits, which I believe the university will move to settle quickly.

Blinders are bad...

AFDAWG®, unless you're simply that comfortable with them on, remove the blinders. To not do so reinforces that trophies/titles are more important than character, integrity, and lives. Nothing about this episode is flattering to UGA as a whole, to the football program especially, and to Mr. Kirby Smart specifically.

This and the Bama hoops matter are massive stains on collegiate sports and the handling of each case emphasizes the extent to which programs will go to minimize the damage and reputations of the schools and programs. It's beyond distasteful how both have handled these tragedies, yet unless the alumni/supporters are willing to speak LOUDLY, they, too, are accepting of how the programs and universities are managed.

Now, you're wholly entitled to your view on this, but out of respect for this site and T-Net members, keep further remarks to yourself as to try to twist this in another way will simply be more disrespect, which is unwelcome.
