Alabama is a paper tiger.
Played one real offense and gave up 600+ yards and 42 points.
Played one real defense and managed 206 yards and one offensive TD.

Bowl games are 3+ months away.
This was a Thursday night game after 12 days off on the road, I expected some rust and it was evident.
We still have 10 more games to go before the bowl game.

Ducks put up 45-60 all year in 2012 then went into Stanford & were held to a measly 14 in late November.

NC State is the same program that beat FSU less than a year ago when they had a quarterback that is now winning in the NFL.
I understand your infatuation w/ Oregon; tehy are blazing good & deserve to be ranked one higher than us. That doesn't make them unstoppable, especially if Beasley shows up play after play.

Honest question here....

[ in reply to I am all in, but this team did not play like #3 team*** ] |

Did Alabama play like the #1 team last week against TAMU? Now, before anyone says anything I'm not comparing the #6 team in the country to NCSU. What I'm saying is, Bama is ranked first and gave up over 500 yards of offense to ONE player and also gave up 42 points.
Any team can test any other team on any given week. Look at the Clemson/Auburn game in 2010. Auburn went on to win the BCS title, Clemson went on to a losing record that year. But they had to go to overtime to beat us on THEIR home field, and had we not had a "snap infraction" (which I had never heard called before that game and haven't heard since) we would have tied them and gone to a second overtime where who knows what may have happened.
Any team can give any other team a fight. The fact that we're moaning about a double-digit win on the road in conference says we've come quite a long way as a program.

Alabama wins. They have won so much, with such regularity, they do not have to win pretty; they simply have to win.

We're not gonna blow everybody out.
That #3 beside our name means every stadium we go to will be fuller than normal and we will get everybody's best shot.
Hats off to NC State for coming out ready to play.

Agree that the O wasn't clicking, but good teams can depend on other phases of the game when their O is slipping a bit. That's what we did. NC State threw everything they had at us and for the most part we stuffed them. Keep in mind that our O line hasn't played a full game together since Aug 31st. We have three tune up games before we play FSU at home. Step back from the ledge until then.

We won the game, by double digits. A nationally televised game on Thursday night, on the road, against a team with some talent, with a penchant for upsetting at least one highly ranked team per year. We won the game.
We obviously weren't clicking on offense for much of the game, but we still scored 26 points. We were literally two overthrown passes from scoring 40 points. Our defense played well overall. What Oregon would or wouldn't have done is irrelevant, because they didn't play NC State.
Again, we won the game.

What he is saying is that we're not as good as Oregon, maybe not close. And I need to remind everyone on this board that we are in a NON-PLAYOFF system, a very unusual system where they basically determine the top teams by the very comparisons like this that a lot of people make - "this opponent against that, strength of schedule" etc
