The Crunge and The Ocean are equally my two favorite deep cuts.

The Crunge, The Ocean, and The Rover.
Obviously, I'm very big on the Zeppelin 'The' songs.

I was going to go with the Ocean but wasn’t sure if it qualified as a deep cut. Either way clearly you have excellent taste.

When Giants Walked the Earth by Mick Wall.
lil'APM got me this a while ago and it is dense. I can only read a few pages at a time, but talk about a thorough treatment of Led Zep, Peter Grant, Aleister Crowley, etc., etc. A great read.

Probably would normally be a book I liked

But I read “Hammer of the Gods” when it came out in middle school and have probably read 3-4 more Zep biographies since then. They all pretty much seem like the same story with a different tidbit here or there.

Have you read the Peter Grant book Bring It On Home?

Picked that up at Ollie's for $3.99 recently but haven't gotten around to it yet. I have a mounting backlog of music bios sitting in a pile right now.

Pretty superficially. Well, maybe they did a deep dive and he’s just not a very complex man, but they all paint the same overbearing, violent, thuggish lout of a manager who was also highly protective of the guys (or his income stream) and could turn on the charm when he had to.
I’ll never forgive him for being the reason Song Remains the Same is such a massive shidshow.
I just picked up a Clapton bio at Mr K’s in Greenville that I’ll read when I get thru a Smiths and an Angus Young bio I have in queue.

In addition to his role with Zep, he was an actor, bouncer, and professional rassler. His management also changed how bands were paid in a variety of ways, including with records and concerts.

And I’ve seen him “act”. He was no actor. Lol

he reluctantly got into it.
His tough guy act was mostly an act and he hated that people started to see him as a bully.
Actually retired and was something of a recluse for years after Zep.
