Here is the latest news on Kamara about his visit with Bama. Although nothing in here is related to Clemson, I still thought you might want to know since he is a target at RB position. His trip seemed to go pretty good, I still think it is a Clemson, UGA battle.Nothing has changed in my opinion.
--------------------------------------------------------- Four-star running back Alvin Kamara visited Tuscaloosa for camp but didn't participate. However, this trip wasn't about improving as a player. Kamara said this camp wasn't about what took place on the field for him, but what took place off of it.
"I was talking to Coach Smart and Coach Saban, kind of just to be up there," Kamara said. "I think me and Coach Saban just trying to keep that same relationship and keep in contact."
He said he spoke with coach Nick Saban about his future, although Saban did not mention what kind of role Kamara would have with the team in the future. He also spoke with offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier for a little to help get acquainted. Kamara made it a point to speak with strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran.
"Every time I get up there I talk to him," Kamara said. "We just talk about work ethic and ways to improve that." Kamara prides himself on his work ethic so meeting with Cochran is always important. He said that ethic is his best quality as a player.
"It's the way I work, I think I'll fit in with what they do, "Kamara said. "Keeping up with the tempo and being able to contribute."
Alabama has already signed two running backs for the 2013 class, Tyren Jones and Altee Tenpenny. Kamara said he splits some time with 2014 recruit Myles Autry now in high school, but not quite 50/50. He said he thinks he'd be ready to share more of his workload by the time he reaches college. Most of all, he isn't worried about the things he can't control.
One of those things beyond his control is Derrick Henry. Henry is ranked the No. 1 running back by Rivals.com and recently decommitted from Georgia and has reopened his recruitment, with Alabama in the lead. Kamara said he doesn't care about any of that.
"If he ends up in the same place, we end up in the same place," Kamara said. "If he goes somewhere, I'm not going to go to some offensive place because he went somewhere." Looking forward, Kamara isn't sure when he will be back to Tuscaloosa. He doesn't know the specifics for when, only that he is sure he will be back. He said he likes Alabama for its tradition and its atmosphere.
"It's just a feeling that I get, I feel comfortable up there," Kamara said. "The name speaks for itself, with all the players and championships they've had."
Kamara said he was encouraged by his visit to camp and knows that the Crimson Tide still have their eyes on him. He said is just enjoying his times and getting to the people in around Tuscaloosa.
"Coach Saban always says it's the top guys here," Kamara said. "It's always fun to be around the complex and be around those coaches building relationships."
