Amazing Clemson ring story...

While tracking down email addresses for former CU Army ROTC cadets for a gathering last weekend, I received this email from a classmate`s wife. Marc is 49yrs old...

On October 12, while out on a 10 mile run, Marc collapsed in full cardiac arrest. Miraculously a man who is a doctor came upon him, performed CPR, shocked him twice, intubated him and got him to the hospital. There the wonderful doctors removed an arterial blockage and performed a 72 hour hypothermia treatment to protect his brain. After 5 long days he awoke. After acute therapy, he is now fine. Back to work and driving and slowly working out. He is truly a miracle and we are so thankful that the worse case scenario ended up with a best case outcome . Btw, he had no id on him. They tracked me down by taking off his Clemson ring, seeing his name engraved on the inside and then calling to locate me. Ahh, Clemson, beautiful Clemson.

I wear one when I run because I don't carry my wallet or other ID with me. God forbid that something happen to me and the EMT's can't figure out who to contact (I do carry my cell phone, but the 6-digit unlock code is probably too much for them to guess).
