It actually has become a fairly common thing in player introductions, I hear them do it all the time.
Not saying he is proud to have gone to Scar but this isn't a big deal, IMO.

CJ graduated from Clemson. Sidney Rice did not graduate from sakerlina. Some players think it's disingenuous to list the college as if they are a college graduate.

I think it was Ron West who told him that he wasn't big enough - or fast enough - or something like that and didn't offer him a scholarship.
I'm not putting it all off on West. Tommy Bowden was the one who made the ultimate call to not offer. In fairness, the receivers that we had beat Carolina while Rice was there but I don't think any of them are playing in the NFL today.

He attended Sakerlina, but he did not *graduate* from Sakerlina.

Not that we didn't already know....
Officially, a rough day for Bears' Jeffery Rookie WR whistled for 3 pass interference penalties December 16, 2012|By Fred Mitchell, Chicago Tribune reporter
816
When push came to shove Sunday, Bears rookie Alshon Jeffery failed to get the benefit of the doubt from the officials.
The big, physical wide receiver was whistled for three offensive pass interference calls.
Quarterback Jay Cutler, who wanted to steer clear of criticizing the officials, was asked if hypothetically veteran receivers get more of the benefit of the doubt when the inevitable hand-fighting goes on throughout a passing route.
