I hate when football is in the off season. TNet can get kinda ugly as we tear at each other.

I was working and heard it on a small ear phone radio. Hardees had opened a place on Beatties Ford Rd in Charlotte. That was a very high crime area. They paid me to hang around after dark until it closed and the employees got safely away.
Hearing Elvis had passed made me sad.

I was bagging groceries at the North Charleston Piggly Wiggly when a customer came in telling us. I remember that was the first time I had ever seen my Mother cry, that is how big a deal it was. Coincidentally, I left for my freshman year at Clemson 2-3 days later.

I understand how yall kids don't understand the Elvis thing.
The biggest star for the "simple folks" before Elvis might have been Gene Autry.
In comparison no stars today have that type star power, not one.

I was at my grandparents mountain house near Hendersonville, NC with a friend when my grandmother came in and told us. He wasn’t really popular when I was growing up but I was still sad when she told us.
