Any golfers heresHows Boscobel?

I’ve played The Walker Course several times and we absolutely love it - Playing Boscobel for the first time Friday.

Is it any good?

Boscobel not in the condition that Walker course is overall. It is a really fun track to play and has bent grass greens that have been in great shape all season. In terms of the course itself, probably the best value for the money ( Not sure what they charge on a game weekend) in the area. Downside can be pace of play. It can be brutally slow if it is crowded. That is really the only negative.

I’m pretty sure Boscobel was originally the site of the Masters before Augusta National was built.

It’s nothing incredible but it’s a fun track. Greens are rolling true and the fairways are in really good shape. They’ve really been putting in a ton of work the last couple years to make it better

Not sure in todays world but back in. 1989. 1990, 1991 we surely had a darn good time playing boscobel as students !

I live 5 minutes away in Pendleton and play it a couple times a week. I’ll tell you, the students are still out there having a good time!

Similar to Augusta National. Let me explain. At Augusta they have a fence to keep people out. At Boscobel they have a fence to keep you in. At Augusta if you win you get a green jacket. At Boscobel if you win you get a straight jacket. Enjoy!

I played both last year the weekend of the Nancy state game. Hard to compare the two courses but we enjoyed both. Boscobel is an old school course with some fairways running parallel to one another (which can be a good thing depending on how you're hitting it 😉). The greens were in great shape and the fairways and tee boxes were solid. Oh one tip, and I wish I had known this before teeing off.
On hole #16, ideal tee shot is a draw around 260-280yd and even that will leave you 175-200 out. But, if you bomb one straight 295 or more you will be totally blocked out on your approach shot. Have fun!
