He is in the slump of all slumps. Why did CBB let him try a 3 when he couldn't hit water in the middle of the lake? At least he hit his free throws.

It's not CBBs fault, players didn't make plays once again. It happens once in a while.

We were missing a key player. And sometimes the other team is just better. And the fans don't support the team. The pep band sucks. The facilities suck. We don't pay CBB enough money. Clemson has never been good. I'm sure JK had more excuses...

I don't know if you noticed but Hunter the Elder made 2 layups against GT. That is a big step in the right direction.

Girard is the key to this team getting over the hump. At least his offense anyways. They're still not getting him open set shots. They did one time against BC where he passed the ball moved to the corner off the screen and they popped it right back to him and he hit. Thats the first time i've seen a play drawn up for him to hit a set shot. Instead he's having to run off of screens or on his own and try to hit some quick turnaround three like Kobe Bryant. Thats obviously not his game. He should be running base lines to shake off his defender and take advantage of the rotation or something. Last night he had a play where he did that and was open i the corner but the Hunter boys were too busy passing it to each other.
I dont' know.. its obviously not going to happen b/c it hasn't yet. They use girard the same as they use hunter or pj or whoever..just run around and try to create your own shot. You can watch him and tell he's just lost and doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing. No comfortable looks ever.. and in these tight games getting a 3 or a couple of 3's out of him late would make the world of difference. Its possible but not a priority I guess.

specifically designed to get Gerard an open look. C. Hunter seems determined to get off as many shot attempts as possible with no worries about the turnovers and missed shots he stacks up in the process. Both Hunter brothers display an aversion to passing the ball to an open Gerard beyond the arc–

He hesitated and then didn’t take several 3 pointers during the game. I feel bad for him because his confidence in the 3 is gone, but at least he is cognizant. Joe Girard, who I have enjoyed watching play this season, just half-heartedly threw up long 3s on crucial possessions without properly setting his feet. Just a disappointing game all-around.
I can’t stop thinking about how we stuck with the same dumb defensive scheme when they were killing us and forcing us to switch to get better matchups.

Put in Beadle and let him drive and dish back to Girard or under to PJ. Plus, Beadle has a chance to stay with the other team's guards on D. The Hunter boys aren't fast enough on D and at this point neither one of them can shoot. This is not rocket science.

Once again Beadle led the team last night in positive point differential when he was in the game - all 5 minutes worth.
