Anybody have

one of those Fitbit watches. I was looking at the "Surge." Anybody use one and can tell me if it really is worth almost $200. Is there a better version out there? Must include the HR monitor and Sleep monitor. TIA

I do not have one myself but everyone I have talked to has liked theirs. Most of my friends have the normal one not the Surge though.
You can get the HR monitor on one that isnt the Surge.
Its called like the Charge HR or something. It is the one I have been looking at.

That's the one my wife is looking at (not a swipe at you). The surge actually has a watch face to show the time as well. I think it has more features or something like that.

Charge HR has a watch face as well just doesnt have the large face that shows other information like the Surge.
One nice thing the Surge apparently has is GPS tracking.

From the websites I have been looking at it seems like the only real differences is the Surge you can view text messages but can't answer them and the surge has gps tracking. All of this comes with an extra $100. Sorry but I don't see why I would want my wife on my wrist

I have the Charge HR and love it. Used it about 3 months now. I work in an office and use silent alarms on it to remind me to get up and move around several times during the day.

I gifted my father with the Fitbit Charge HR for my father because of his heart issues, found it for $149 on Amazon and he loves it.
But if you're looking for heart & sleep monitoring, you should check out one of those Jawbone wearables. They are pretty amazing. The UP4 model does sleep and heart monitoring and also has payments-on-the-go with AMEX! It's only $129 on Amazon.

It just broke, though. It lasted about 9 months. I really liked it. Tracked rested HR, Sleep (counted times restless and awake) and I could even track my calories on there. I would recommend it.

I just got the Fitbit Charge HR. It is about $150 right now with the sales. Smaller face than the surge but does pretty much all the same things. Battery lasts 4 days before needing a charge. If you are decent with a smartphone you will love it. I really am enjoying mine. Me and the wife got them for each other and you can set challenges and talk crap to each other throughout the day.
Pretty fun way to start shedding some pounds.
